Unholy Alliance Tour

Next Saturday cookiecutter and I are going up to Lowell, Mass. as the Unholy Alliance Tour passes through.

The tour features the bands Thine Eyes Bleed, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, and the main event, Slayer.

Having not seen any of these bands live, and Slayer being the only band among them I have really gotten into, I'd like to hear some opinions on and accounts of your own live experiences with these bands.

I anticipate a good show, and hopefully the supporting acts will keep our bloodthirst for Slayer at bay.

Mastodon is the only good band on that bill. Them and Slayer I guess, but they've sucked for a decade.

I like Mastodon, CoB, and Lamb of God. Haven't heard Thine Eyes Bleed and I don't like Slayer. I think they're wayyy over-rated.

If you don't want to watch Slayer, watch the audience. It's usually very entertaining.

I've seen Children of Bodom. They can play well, but their music left me cold when I saw them opening for Dimmu Borgir.

Mastodon hasn't really left much of an impression on me, musically. Neither has Lamb of God. Who knows...I may find something that I like live that I haven't been getting off their studio material.

The only band that I'm really going to see is Slayer, so I'm happy.

By the way, for those of you who will be up in the front row for Slayer who haven't seen them before, be advised that the Marshall cabinets that the band uses aren't "dummy cabs." All 24 cabinets are plugged in and turned on to maximum volume.

I would go see Slayer if it was 90. It's not worth seeing a bunch of washed out old men play their new crappy songs for 36 dollars. Majority of the croud is going to be 12 years old.
