USBM

anyone else here like Wind of the Black Mountains - Sing Thou Unholy Servants ?

i thought it was quite asskicking as far as USBM goes!

I always forget about that band, but yeah, they were pretty good. At one point they were actually signed to Barbarian Wrath.

Is anyone familiar with the Bellum/Rhune split? I've heard that it's pretty good.

fyi dude, leviathan doesn't sound like the leviathan that you hear on the split.

So thumbs down on "The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide"? I'm not too familiar with Leviathan's music, hell I've owned "Lurker of Chalice" for 2 months and have yet to give it a spin. I'm taking your word along with a dozen others that Wrest's music is sub par. However, this leads me to question why the hell such mediocre bands get such praise? I've seen 5 star reviews and 100% ratings for some of Leviathan's work. I'm assuming this is from the first few people who discover the band, who in turn create a glamorous review, so in case the band becomes popular among the underground, they can toot their own horn and say, "Hey I've been raving about these guys for 3 years."

yeah, i see the same praise and im wondering as well. i cant find lurker of chalice anywhere, so it's prolly out of print or something.

listening to tentacles of whorror now, and i can safely say the split was much better.....so far

Megiddo's DatH album starts off really well, but becomes less and less interesting the furhter I listen.
I absolutely love that album. It's quite easily my favourite discover of the past year. I'll agree that the second half kinda loses me, but the 2 covers at the end are fucking GREAT.

And besides, I'm pretty damned sure that Megiddo is Canadian.

so Krohm is good?

still haven't heard Wolves in the Throne Room

did anyone else ever check out Nachtmystium?

also, can someone describe Averse Sefira?
