what preamp was used for this one? i cant seem to cpature that tight low end only with the 57!

Nah i meant the mic pre. i have an engl powerball so i should get similiar results

Powerball and E530 are different animals... A Blackmore would be more along the lines of that pre.

And I propose a re-try of this, dialing in the preamp for each speaker. Not to mention a flat EQ comparison.

Stock mic pres in a Tascam US-1800.

And the Powerball is quite a bit looser than the E530. This isn't even boosted.
