Has Katatonia always had the same Vocalist? I was curious because I was listening to Opeth's "Under the weeping moon", and the vocals on the song sounded quite similar to those on Sounds of decay.

Brave Murder Day and Sounds Of Decay feature Mikael Åkerfeldt on the vocals (except the song with clean vocals on BMD) as you noticed. Jonas lost his growling voice.

...or so he claimed...

...then he recorded the vocals for October Tide's "Rain Without End"...

...then he growled "Murder" live at every single Katatonia gig after that. ;)

Hmm... I believe Blakkheim has made a promise to never do vocals in Katatonia for whatever reason... Though he did do some backing vox on "For Funerals to Come." I've never actually seen Katatonia live though so I don't know.

Well, Jonas does the vocals for Murder at gigs, I think he can growl just for a few minutes or something :) It's not Anders who does it. Although Anders did the vocals on the Brave Murder Day tour for all the songs.
And to answer the question: yes, Opeth's vocalist has sung on Sounds of Decay (and Brave Murder Day. Get this one if you don't own it yet!)
