Volume 8 - The Threat Is Real

I got a used one to listen to and a new one still in the wrap that will never see the red laser from my head unit! NOW THAT'S FANBOY FOR YA!

Yeah, I also read that Charlie was burning copies for people. That is really cool of him. I am going to seek additional copies of Volume 8 as I am good at finding deleted albums. If I want something abd enough, I will always find a way... :)

Cincy might get all Lars on your ass, too.

The band can't possibly be that upset by it if Charlie's talking about doing it himself.

But I'll shut up now.

If he bought a copy and wants to copy it for his personal use thats cool. But if he made copies for everyone on this thread then thats not cool. Thats all I am saying. Also it is different if Charlie does it as it is his music to give away not yours.

Do you have a copy of VOL.8? If you don't then I suggest you try to find one.......REAL hard to do! THIS ISN'T THE METALLICA VS NAPSTER MESSAGE BOARD...SO FUCKING DROP IT ALREADY! Your opinion is fine...just wrong.

P.S. GET OFF THE "IT'S THE BANDS MUSIC TO GIVE AWAY , NOT YOURS" BANDWAGON.

The Farter recently bought 2 versions of Volume 8 at half.com.

version one: Volume 8 (black and white promo) $5

version two: Volume 8 (brand new, still in wrapper) $12

Who Farted?
The Farter Did!

There is a copyright law that respects an artists' intelectual property. That means that it is illegal to copy a copyrighted material and give it to a friend. It is not yours to give away (the copy that is). If you want to give away the original copy in your possesion there is no law against that and I'll take all the legit vol.8 discs that you want to give away. And for you posers who want a free copy.....YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!! That is theft and besides you should be thankful for the oppurtunity to BUY the music you enjoy. That is a right that is not upheld in a lot of countries.
Your proffessor,

p.s. Cincy Vigilante is dead on. The rest of you Suck!!!:(

Yeah, it's threads like this that make me understand where Metallica was coming from. Even though I think services like Napster, Audiogalaxy, etc, are excellent for discovering and previewing new music, with people who think like this, it's no wonder the musicians are against them. I by no means agree with Metallica's stance, but the ignorance of some people makes me understand it. If you download it and like it, do the responsible thing and buy it.

Just a thought...

Way back in the old days before we had CD's, we had cassettes. It seems like it was a fairly common practice to dub tapes, but I don't remember anyone ever complaining about artist rights or whatever back then. I really don't see how burning cds is any different. I'm just wondering why this is such an issue now, when it wasn't back then. Just curious...

(btw- I'm not talking about someone downloading music off the net and burning it to a cd, I'm talking about the subject of this thread, which is someone buying a cd and burning it for his buddy)
