What are some good drum heads to record with??

in general tend to use Evans G2 clears on the toms, Evans power centre reverse dot for the snare and on kicks i adore Remo Powerstroke III's

Evans C2 clears have worked well on toms for me. Thank you for the dotted Ambassador suggestions... would love to try them. General consensus is that Powerstroke 3s still own the kick?

Yeah I wouldnt Use anything else for metal.

If Dickhead in a drumshop tells you to use a Evans Emad, Pick up a Powerstoke 3 and slap him in the face with it!! They are amazing for big fat rock thud but have NO top end, No Click, ALL thump. Everybody Loves those Things, But they are just not right for Metal

Everyones Loving the EC2's. To be honest Ive never ever Herd such a lifeless Head. Ive herd them make some Very Nice Drum Kits sound very bad Very Quick. They Seem to make the Drum sound very Plastic-y and lose the tone of the drum. Id take G2's in an Instant. Or Emperors. Same Shit different Smell.

Got a steal today on a used Tama Starclassic copper snare with the die-cast zinc hoops.

So, I thought I'd try out the controlled sound head.... works great! Wonderful transient attack.
