The best stoner metal band is Sleep. IMO. Others I like: Elctric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Black Sabbath, Isis, some EYEHATEGOD. As far as stoner rock: Fu Manchu, QOTSA. I want to get a Kyuss CD because I really like all I've heard of them, but I dunno if I should get Sky Valley or Blues for the Red Sun.

Don't listen to much doom, but I do like Paradise Lost and Anathema.

I dont know why people call it "stoner" metal? I find that word annoying. Why not just call it doom or sludgecore?

I have not heard a lot of Sludgecore but from what I heard it sounds great.

Everyone should check out the band 'Pelican'. Great instrumental doom shit.

I dont know much about sludgecore/stoner metal/whatever but some bands i like are Soilent Green, Orange Goblin, Forlorn Suffering.

oh yes Rune are good too, sort of a doom/death/grind kind of mixture
