what are ya listenin at?

Yea, no hard feelings....

His shriek is definitely what gets me... I listen to alot of black metal and even hardcore... but his just bothers me and is very displeasing to my ears.

In fact, I can think of only one vocalist that makes my head hurt more:

Dont get me wrong... the band is awesome... but FUCK... someone... take that microphone from him.

Definitely listen to the new Insomnium if you havent already, btw.

Edit: and yes, I'll take a standard video over seeing a death metal band bowl any day.

More like this, please:

Or my favorite metal video of all time:

I have a simillar problem with the vocalist of megadeth.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I just don't like mustaine's singing voice.
And as for pagan altar, that one sounds kinda like ozzy, just... "shreddier"? :D

i think thats enough for his music... first years of black sabbath would not be the same without ozzy singing (dio era is great, but its not the same music style)

for me some kind of music doesn't needs awesome vocals, same with pagan altar, for me it's ok... also cathedral to name other example, lee dorrian do it right and really great

... and black dahlia murder is not for me, too modern (call it melodeath or deathcore or whatever) i never liked that kind of music... matter of taste...

now i'm listening to

darkthrone - soulside journey
hypocrisy destroys wacken :heh:
motorhead - overkill
odium - sad realms of the stars :worship:

and some pink floyd and rolling stones stuff...

pd: guitar solo with broken arm kickass :kickass:

I've been on a power metal binge today for some reason....

Victims of the night...
its time for your
PRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEEER in the DARK!

Ever heard Pyramaze? One of my favorite power metal bands. Thats one of the songs with matt barlow (Iced Earth). They used to have Lance King before, great singer.

That sounded pretty good... Love Matt Barlow.

Speaking of him... this song rips my soul to pieces every time.

Power metal vocals... :erk:
I guess I haven't really given the genre a chance, but the vocals tend to scare me off every time I give it a try. And as for Black Dahlia Murder, I seriously don't get what's so brilliant about them. I can't listen to more than a few songs without wanting to shove a stick down the vocalist's throat just to make him shut the fuck up.

Anyway. Listening to Taake atm, now that's decent screaming. Also been listening a lot to Vreid, Dissection, Vesania, Belphegor and some old Kalmah.

power metal...
its like playing DnD without the dices and...the fun

:p

Lame stereotype is lame.

Power metal vocals... :erk:

The really high vocals get me too... that kind, I try and avoid unless the music is superb. (actually, out of all the power metal I've posted, none has the uber high vocals)

You should really try Kiuas - The Spirit of Ukko.

There's nothing gay about this:

:worship:

I find it quite odd that you like TBDM and apparently D&D... but cant stand Power Metal.

I used to be the same way... death and black metal only, hell clean vocals in any way turned me off... but I got into death/doom... which progreseed into doom, and then heavy and power metal.

I like all of it.

Two styles I cant stand : power metal and doom metal.
Unless Im out of sleeping pillz :p

and I dont understand how you can say that you used to be the same way as I am since you dont really know me at all

Death and black are by far my face music styles, but I listen also to underground hip hop, rock and roll from the 60's and old skool brit pop

For instance this morning Ive been listening to pink floyd, the beach boys and Kaiser chiefs

Do not assume stuff too fast dude

The only thing I really hate is this "medieval rock" shit thats somehow so fucking popular in my country.
