The Jim Root strats and teles have a lot more chunk than most strats and teles because of the mahogany.
It's a fairly thick, dark sound that goes well with the EMGs

Yeah it really does, sans the gay headstock hump. I honestly cannot fucking stand that headstock. I have a 25th Ann. USA Strat from like '79, was my grandfather's, and it has that fugly ass shit. Otherwise, I would love one of those Root Strats.
