For those of you who believe that Opeth should put out a new album before touring Australia, think of this. With near to forty songs or more, They could not possibly play more than a quater of their material, with another say 15 songs on the double CD that will be released, we would miss out on some of the classics. I say they should tour now and again in a few years so we can here some of their more recent stuff.

This however was not the real point of this message, for those of you who have seen Opeth live, what can we Aussies expect? On average how may songs are on their playlist? etc

on the last tour they played 9 songs on every gig i think
1- The leper affinity
2- White cluster
3- Forest of october
4- Credence
5- Bleak
6- When
7- The drapery falls
8- Advent
9- Demon of the fall

They seem to have "classics" they play every gig : Advent, Forest, Demon of the Fall, White Cluster and Drapery, so one from each LP is played, we'll see for next tour...

Hey guys and gals that listen to metal all over the world. I guess I'm not a strict metal fan, I listen to alot of different music, from different eras. The music I listen to is attached to mental images and that imagery is relevant to my mood. So therefore, I listen to anything from Stevie Wonder to Brujeria and Dimmu Borgir. I listen to alot of different bands/musicians, but I really like the following....

Opeth, Mr Bungle, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle Of Filth, Fishbone, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Slayer, Tchaikovsky, etc....

I find all of those bands/musicians to be of the highest quality in their respective genres, and therefore get my nod of approval :)

Oh yeah, in case you are wondering, Im from Australia, Im living on the Gold Coast now, home to all trendoids and sheep humans, but Im moving to Sydney soon.. Anyway, music seems to have a large impact on our lives, we seem to find a style that we supposedly like and do whatever we can to join that lifestyle. Me, I like all kinds of music, so I dont think there really is a style for me to dress with, slang for me to immerse myself in. I do think its sad though that america seems to dominate the world music scene so badly, it really has the music scene in a chokehold and doesn't seem to want to let go anytime soon either. I find america to have past its best, back in the era of the Eagles and Steely Dan, America, The Doors, CCR, Boston, Chicago, etc, I think music then was very good, but I guess now its the era of "nu-metal" and pop, both of which suck bad. Its sad how the most talented musicians fail again and again, but someone who has limited creativity and imagination can sell 15 million records in a year. I guess this post is a scream out to humanity, a plead which will probably fall on deaf ears, to give other people a chance. We are all so quick to jump on the bandwagon so to speak, to find whatever is "cool" or "in" and support them. Money is pure evil, its the main instigator in the demise of musical quality. I mean come on, you either be a copycat and make $100 million a year, or try to be original and you wont even get a record deal. This world sucks asshole, and all you little teeny bopper faggots, I'm going to assisinate your idols before I die, you have been warned....

Long live Mr Bungle, Opeth and anyone else who can take us on journeys into the musical neatherealms!!!!!!!! :D
