What did you kids listen to when you were around my age

Well, that would be basically be a couple of months prior to and most of 1993 for me.

Let's see...

Anthrax- "The Sound Of White Noise"
Pantera- "Vulgar Display Of Power"
Testament- "The Ritual"
Horrible, wretched album by Iron Maiden (been mentioned far too many times!)
Exodus
Body Count
all of Rush
Anacrusis- "Screams And Whispers"
Damn The Machine
The Galactic Cowboys- "Space In Your Face"
Dream Theater- "Images & Words"
Alice In Chains- "Dirt"
Black Sabbath- "Cross Purposes"
Slayer- Seasons In The Abyss (1990)" *was played to death for a while!*

That's all I can think of right now!

As Jonny, I too was 20 in 1998: ;)

Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
My Dying Bride
Anathema
Paradise Lost
Tiamat
Slayer
Black Sabbath
Pink Floyd
Napalm Death
Obituary
Death
Deep Purple
Megadeth
Metallica
Helloween

...and loads of other bands...

Same stuff I listen to now, I was 20 only 2 years ago hehe. Except with a bit less oscure stuff than now, and I wasn't really listening to AOR stuff back then.

Turned 20 in 1989. I was still listening to thrash but manly was into the underground scene that would break open in about 1991 or so.... bands like Faithe No More, Nirvan's first album, Mudhoney, Jane's, Tad, The Fluid, Big F, and so on.... I could be off by a year or so on a couple of those bands because the years 1988 to 1990 kinda run together for me.... there was SOOOO much cool new sounding music happening then.

turned 20 in late 1991. What dominated my CD player then was:

Savatage - Streets. This one blew me away (still does)!
Priest - Painkiller. This didn't leave my CD player for almost 2 years.
Metallica - Black Album. I know, I know, but I loved this record (still do).
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss / Decade of Agression Live.
Anthrax - Persistance of Time
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
King Diamond - The Eye.
Guns R Roses - Use Your Illusion
