yes did an arena tour a few months ago, so yeah there are deffo a couple of 'mainstream' prog bands. but as we know, commercial success shouldnt have anything to do with us liking a band or not, so that point is a bit err off-side.

if someone wanted to check what metallica is about, id tell him to give a go to 'st anger' and '...and justice for all' so he knows what theyre about these days. but you cant go and check the whole discography of everything single band out there, especially if you didnt like a full album in the first place. there are so many bands out there i might like better heh.

and i stated that opinion cause i think its very annoying to read someone be so conceited about his stuff :erk:

thats pretty much bollox isnt it? pink floyd, king crimson, genesis, deep purple, queen, and even jimi hendrix. you have some big names there eh :p
Floyd is the only band that hit it really big. 70's Genesis? Nope. They started selling millions in the mid-80's when they went pop. King Crimson? I bet millions of rock fans would say they've never even heard their name. Another band that had success 30 years ago. Queen and Hendrix have nothing to do with prog in the first place. That's stretching the word a bit too far. Even if you are right, show me one big PROG ROCK band from 90's that had so much impact on the music scene. Spock's Beard and Porcupine Tree are as far as you can go. Not even Dream Theater is a big selling band. They sell like 130 thousand copies in the US, which is nothing compared to Bon Jovi's 8 million copies. Just because people are familiar with a band's name doesn't mean those bands are really big. Also all of this is beside the point.

Nightingale is making great music and we're enjoying it. If you don, that's your loss. At least we don't have a habit of bitching about everything that isn't our way. Dan is proud of his work and he has every right to state it. We do agree that on an artistic value all four Nightingale albums are awesome. You don't like it, that's your decision. Just don't get mad at Dan for stating his opinion.

stop denying everything ffs! ok i can agree a bit with queen. but just think about bohemian rhapsody.
i reckon king crimson was fucking big in their time. and you forgot to mention deep purple.
just face the facts like.
and your point was that prog has never been big. im not talking bout today.

Deep Purple has nothing to do with prog rock either. They were a classic hard rock band. Get your facts right. And tell me some very big prog rock bands of today. You can't name any... cause this isn't the 70's but what's the point in arguing when you obviously have no idea what prog rock even is. King Crimson has never sold that well either. Queen and Hendrix have NOTHING to do with prog rock whatsoever.

prog was never big??

rick wakeman, genesis, Y&T, yes, pink floyd, jethro tull, jefferson airplane, cream (yeah cream were progressive) were never big?? go up to any of that lots houses and see what they're like. you wont get past the security gates

as for deep purple never being prog, listen to the book of telysein and say that aint prog ffs

okay i did an effort to listen to me purple disc youre right. i must ve been too much busy with child in time (and bm from queen) i apoligise and that.

and stop ask me for new bands like.... i didnt deny prog is dead alright

but crimson was huge like. otherwise people wouldnt talk about it. genesis same story. btw what about 'yes'. what about sgt peppers from the beatles (according to my source the first real prog rock album). and jethro tull. and now im deffo not bullshitting you. cause i did research and that. now it comes to me mind maiden has some top notch progressive stuff as well somewhere in time, 7th son) ah well

I have listened to both songs. They are decent songs but no real genius in it. So i won't vote for genius nor piece of shit nor the smartass option.
I'm not a fan of Nightingale anyway but I Adore Edge of Sanity for Purgatory Afterglow and especially Crimson. Though number 2 was really dissapointing.
And as far as mr Swano is concerned, I dunno him, never met or e-chatted whith him, so I can't tell if he's big-headed or not, a moron or a nice person and honestly i don't care about other's opinions about him. Mehdi says he's a cunt, maybe i would like the guy ... The others says he's not that kind of man, maybe he would be for me... We all have our own ways to perceive people you know ... take it easy, there's no black and white
But someone litteraly speaking of himself as a god or a genius should consider psychiatry. That's not what Dan did anyway ?
And the fact that he can play drums, bass, guitar, keys and that he has that awesome clean and death vox is a big plus for him. If you add the fact that he's constantly recordind new stuff in different genres and that, most of time, this stuff is at least decent and more often good or excellent, you can't deny that he's a metal genius. Though, here again, i would be schoked to hear Dan say ' I'm a metal god ' or ' I'm a metal genius '
