What do you think of these bands?

Cynic -- Good band, i'm not a fan of them, but they're cool!
Death -- One of my favourite bands of all time! Awesome!
Judas Priest -- Not a big fan of this band either, but they have done some cool albums!
Enslaved -- Don't like them!
Anthrax -- I love thrash, but Anthrax has never got my attention actually! Weird maybe?
King Diamond -- Also one of my favourite bands! Totally great! Good songs, good voice, great music! What more can i say...

cynic - never heard of
death - the best band ever
judas priest - good
enslaved - ...good
anthrax - not so good
king diamond - very good

Cynic - best Death metal band that ever existed, nobody even comes close
Death - second best death metal band ever.
Judas Priest - massively overrated, only had one good song "Painkiller". Pretty much suck shit otherwise.
Enslaved - Never heard
Anthrax - used to be excellent, peaked on Persistence of Time. now just a decent metal band.
King Diamond - Never heard

Khronos, you've never heard of Cynic? Imagine Individual Thought Patterns, but tons more complex, with alternating death vox and vocoder (robot-sounding) vox. Sean Reinert, Sean Malone, Paul Masvidal, and someone else whose name escapes me. Most of these guys played with Death at one time or another, and I think Death gets a lot of the credit for inventing the technical death sound when they actually took influence from the members of Cynic being in the band. Cynic only released one CD "Focus" in 1993 (they were together for a while before that, but never got a CD out until then), then disbanded shortly thereafter.

Cynic - One of my favorite bands.
Cynic are amazingly talented and I think they had a enormous influence on the death metal scene...
I also like very much their follow up bands.

Death - Also, one of my favorites... Chuck is a genius

Judas Priest - hmm...they are nice.

Enslaved - never heard anything yet...

Anthrax - Pretty good band, though I don't like thrash very much.

King Diamond - Good band , that reminds me I need to download more of their songs.

Here's my rate:
1. Cynic and Death (just couldn't choose...:) )
2. King Diamond
3. Anthrax
4. Judas Priest

Cynic - Have heard the album and I am aware of its cult status. I can't comment since I don't remember much of the music.

Death-(esp. their "Symbolic" album) - Death was one of the best bands in the world. Chuck was a genius that ws taken away from us too soon. Symbolic is probably my favourite Death album along with Individual thought patterns. The music is clearly written by a genius.

Judas Priest- Has made one of the best albums ever with Painkiller, which is about the only alnum theyve done that has only great songs. Almost all the other albums have at least 1 or 2 songs that arent up to standard in some way. I am not sad that Rob is no longer with them because now we get Rob's solo albums who are superb, and some ok Judas Priest albums.

Enslaved- I have only listened to 1 or 2 of their albums. Can't really comment.

Anthrax- One of the first bands I listened to. Favourite albums is still The sound of white noise. Only is the best song they have ever written. Looking forward to the new album a lot.

King Diamond- Another band I always overlooked.

Thanks. I"ll check it out.:)

Cynic

Great mixing of death metal, metal, jazz and fusion. Too bad they only recorded one album.

Death:

One of the greatest bands ever and Symbolic is perhaps their best album

Judas Priest:

One of the first metal bands. Old stuff is good but IMO Painkiller is their best.

Enslaved:

Decent viking metal.

Anthrax:

A band that I've overlooked too much. Sound of White Noise is one hell of an album though.

King Diamond:

Good traditional metal, King's vocals might take some time to get used to though.

King Diamond is wicked good...I'd say the best out of all the ones you listed there.

"I AM ALIVE...INSIDE YOUR WIFE!!!!"

Mercyful Fate is great, too. If you want story-metal with crazy vox, King Diamond's the way to go.

Cynic- don't know them (yet)

Death-(esp. their "Symbolic" album) - great classic metal

Judas Priest- some stuff OK, but since I can group them with other bands, I like them less than those that are unique

Enslaved- just got into them a month or so ago, and got to see them live. I like them more and more each day

Anthrax- like Judas Priest: some good songs. I never decided if I liked the old or new singer better

King Diamond- Nightmare by Mercyful Fate is one of my all-time favorites. For some reason, his high-pitch does not annoy me.

Cynic- Underrated. It never got the atention it deserved, they are extremely gifted musicians that are ignored as technical gods in favor or stupid kids that say " Sean who? he cant be better than lars ulrich dude"

Death-(esp. their "Symbolic" album): From the symbolic era and forth, death really took a genre that was in a dead end on america ( death metal ) and did something amazing with it. Most of today's american death metal bands are still gore freaks playing blasting drummer, its cool and i love it dont get me wrong, but after the 200 bands that are pretty much the same with different flavors, you need inovation and people who take huge chances like chuck did.

Judas Priest- Overrated. Ill expand: they were fashionable simplistic boring music with some degree of talent on guitar. I hate the "o man they are really old what did you expected from a band in the 70s", i say bullshit mozart and company have been dead for 100s of years literally, time is not an excuse to do primitive music, and their did nothing but pushing an image to sell, o and they were popular. Its sad but metal started as a trend too.

Enslaved- Mmm, no comment, i never really cared for them too much.

Anthrax- They rule, but they got exesive bad comments when they did those rap stuff, it was not bad at all imho, it was just too threaten for most metalheads out there. What gets me its how biohazard was accepted by most metal people at one point, and those same people talked crap about anthrax.

King Diamond- This guy has the single most annoying singing style i have heart in my life. Its also seriously overrated imho, while the guitar work its sometimes good, mainly when laroque does his thing, the songs are just...boring to me. Not the kind of boring i dislike ( like judas priest ) but having that...thing singing in such an annoying fashion with such a ridiculous annoying image its just a mayor turn off.

Cynic- never heard `em
Death-(esp. their "Symbolic" album) - amazing stuff!
Judas Priest- one of the best and most important metal bands ever. People here doesn´t seem to enjoy good old heavy metal. Shame on you! Where would metal be today without bands like Priest, Sabbath and Maiden? Nothing.
Enslaved- good
Anthrax- damn good thrash metal, especially Spreading The Disease and Among The Living
King Diamond- one of my alltime favorite artists. Amazing stuff! The first 5 albums are among the best records ever made.

I wish i there wasnt fucking metal today just so i could stop hearing that stupid crap. Get over it, i dont flame you cause you dont like some 30's blues and without blues they wouldnt be rock and roll and there wouldnt be metal. If you like them fine, listen to mindless simplistic crap for all i care, but stop this roots nonesense, it means nothing all modern metal bands i like EVOLVE and IMPROVE with time, all those dinosaurs you mention still sound the same they did 20 years ago. You dont see a projector album, you dont see a human album etc.

That roots crap its only used by old timers ( or old timer wannabe's ) to try to control newbies with knowledge of the roots of metal, bullshit if the roots of metal were commercial simplistic crap with no talent i dont want anything to do with metal, from now on i dont play on metal bands i play on extreme melodic music bands, just so i can get rid off the metal label and the arrogance it carries all the time in stupid fucking idiots like you.
