What is the first CD you ever bought...

If we're talking cassettes or LPs, the first several I owned (not sure of order) were:

Black Sabbath - Masters of Reality
AC/DC - Back In Black
Billy Joel - Songs From the Attic
Devo - Whip It (or the album with "Whip It")
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
Grease soundtrack

first tape: dire straits brothers in arms - no longer exists
first cd: probably rush exit stage left - would still listen to it if it wasnt scratched all to hell

Don't remember if I bought it, or it was bought for me, but the first CD I ever owned was by a little-known band called The The, can't recall the name of the album, and no, I don't have it anymore.

I saw that in the used bin today!!! I saw "THE THE" and literally said to myself "WTF" :tickled:

First 8-track I owned was Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy. First vinyl was Puttin' on the Ritz. First tape was either Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill or Michael Jackson - Bad.

puttin on the ritz. awesome. i remember that. sometimes it pops into my head and im like WTF?!?!?!

whats young frankenstein have to do with it? was it on the sountrack or something? i just remember hearing the song and eating at a restaurant called "the ritz". i would get the two confused because i was like 8 or something.

I dubbed it onto then blank cassette, so I still kinda have it.

my first metal cassette was Tallica's &J4A. My first metal cd was maybe Primus's Pork Soda? or Queensryche's Promised Land

You have to be joking. You can't believe for how long i was searching for it..and i still haven't found it anywhere. Damn...

Nope, not joking. I got my first CD player in '91 and went out and bought this one based on the video on Headbanger's Ball. Still own it, though I did get rid of the less consistent 'Uncertain Future' a while back (which I regret because it's hella-rare now, or was a few years ago). You need a CDR copy of it?

Whoa, that actually looks like mine (and everyone else's) dingy ass cover. Yes I still have it. Don't listen often, but Through the Never is still some awesome shitz.

PS: I owned tapes, vinyls, and 8-tracks before this CD. :loco:

My first CD was the very same thing. I gave it away a couple of years ago, but I can't think why the fuck I did it, since Wherever I May Roam, Through The Never and My Friend Of Misery still rock hard.
