I'm in need of a new microphone. My old one was crap and I was wondering what kind you guys use/recommend for live or recording stuff. I do mostly death metal and otherwise harsh vocals, if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

I use a wireless Shure Beta 58A. Great mic. Sounds strong, takes abuse. Works much better with the front antenna mounting kit. The corded Beta's sound even better, if you are in need of back-up mics. In addition, the Shure in ear monitors are killer to. Takes a couple shows to get used to, but boy does it save your voice. No more yelling over guitar players who have to go to 11. The E5 ear buds are waaay better then the generics you get with the system, but you can order with the E5.
