What should the new album have?

needled, i think he's a show off :) he's good but he's to much sometimes, very good technique though

thats just my opinion

I think it would be cool to have one song with clean vocals. Also I think a red light in my eyes part III and IV would be awesome. To all the people who said less melodies, if they did cut out melodies I would not buy the album. The melodies is one of the major details that seperates Bodom from all the other death metal. In Flames has had some awesome melodies but they're kind of gay now. I know I'll get bashed after I post this, but what the hell. Bodom is one of the few bands with death vocals that I actually like. They are cool because he is screaming, yet they still keep vocal melodies and guitar melodies going. The solos are also very cool, I think should go for HCDR type solos, but I love the solos for "Every Time I Die".

I do really enjoy the super-heavy sound that HCDR has. And I agree; it has that total "fuck you" attitude to it. I like what the guys do with having that super-heavy metal cross with punk rock. Thing is, each Bodom album has a lot of stuff I love about it; SW's really epic sounding songs; HB's just pure soloing carnage and overall feel; FtR's got some of that too; with SW's epic sounding songs as well; and HCDR as said just had that total attitude...ahh, yeah. :)

The man is a total showoff, thats what i lvoe about him. He's saying "i can do this shit, and i fucking will! and with style!"

Hes not just shredding, hes playing with his hand over the fret board, guitar in the air and shit, its all stage presence :D

:D:D:D:D:D

i love the dark, raw feel of SW, it's their first and best album. the contrast of several black/death vocal styles overlapping each other is just fuckin awesome. No one ever mentions In the shadows, it's a fuckin masterpiece!!!!!

the video of deadnight warrior exactly describes the dark, black metal feeling im talking about.. excellent video, although its a bit cheezy and low budget.

yeah, something more like Something Wild or Hatebreeder, but with more songs on it and of course more solos :D ultra-technical, neoclassical metal!!!

and yeah some clean vocals would be cool too :) :)

agreed. Something wild is my favorite bodom disc. And In the shadows is my favorite bodom song. I want an album more like this. I like the other three and all but SW offers a lot more than the rest.

Someone said it's hard to imagine bodom having a bad cd, this is soo true. Anything they do will be good as long as it remains bodom. It's a pitty about ale.

I love In the Shadows!!

I want some bass solos, like someone mentioned before. Henkka should handle all the rhythm while Alexi and Roope play awesome harmonized melodies. Jaska should get a solo or two, also. Cool drum intros like the one on Bodom Beach Terror would be nice too. I want Alexi's vocals to be more vicious. Lyrics, I want to hear more fantasy stuff. Songs about the Reaper and stuff. That'd be cool. But the punkish lyrics of HCDr were pretty cool. Still I'd rather hear more fantasy. I don't really care if their songs get any longer. I think the 5-minute-or-so songs they've written in the past are just fine. As far as the cover goes, as long as it's an awesome picture of the Reaper, I don't really care. The black and gold you guys have been talking about sounds pretty cool. Black and white might be cool too. That's about all I can think of for now.

I hope the next album will have much evil trollish Humppa influences and Finnish rap vocals by Alexi.

By the way, the guys said that they don't want to use a black album cover because Metallica already had one and gold and silver will be way too cheesy. Some years ago I thought it would be cool to have a white cover with the Reaper in a snow landscape with a frozen Lake Bodom. I don't like that idea anymore and COB won't do this anyway.

I like their current style. Fast melodic thrash. Of course the songs should have more riffs like in the old days and Follow the Reaper-like melodies, but I'm fine with the HCDT-stylish thrash.

I would like a hatebreeder/ftr style +something new. I wasn't too excited about hcdr.

I wouldn't mind hearing some clean tone riffs either. But since Alexi only has one pickup on his guitar near the bridge clean tone might sound ugly.. Does Roope only have 1 pickup? Havn't really looked. (I specifically liked that clean tone riff in 'Homeland'. I think that's the song...)

All of Alexi's solos sound thourahally(sp?) thought out, and very well structured. I wouldn't mind an 'improvised' sounding solo of some sort somewhere. (maybe just one, not all solos ugh) You know, just a nice melodic flowing solo somewhere.

If they didn't go back into the neo-classical type stuff I would like something new like I stated before. Maybe a fantasy like feeling to the music?

That would be an awesome cover, although it might turn out to look a little like Dissection's Live Legacy cover.

I wish they'd sing in Finnish. English is so universal that it gets annoying...Sometimes it adds a bit of a charm when you can't understand what they're saying. (At least for me, stupid American.) I love the way Finnish sounds.

There are things I love about all the albums... they all have a unique style that go well with certain moods. So I think this release will give me another amazing style that I'll love... I'm not worried.
