On the one hand, it would be nice because I like Damnation. On the other hand, I would not like it because I really enjoy the songs/albums with an even mixture of death and clean vocals.

It would be very good and very bad. In a word - craptastic.

Damnation was an experiment, and I think a very successful one. But I certainly hope that it does not become the norm for future Opeth albums.

I'm asking because a friend of mine has been having trouble getting his heavy band together...apparantly drummers are a rare commodity...so he's decided to do it solo and try and do some lighter stuff sorta like Damnation. He wondered what exactly the style of music would be called.
