What if Opeth released an all clean vocal album?

And to say the release of a clean vocal album would be inappropriate for Opeth, and the music would undoubtedly be at least partially stripped of its power, and its identity as well, is total bullshit.

You are totally missing the point, Pierced Spirit. Think of the very end of Black Rose Immortal. The last acoustic part ends, and Mikael gives his very most aguishing growl "YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHhhhh....." beginning the distorted chord progression which fades into the slide riff with reverb and delay. Now that you remember it, would that part have anywhere near as much despair if Mikael just did the triple-track vocal harmony "Ahhhhh" that he did throughout the rest of Morningrise? I think fucking not. The clear vocals in the middle of songs like serenity painted death and White cluster only provide another, different, rush of emotion. Anger and despair, which are part of Opeth, cannot be expressed nearly as well with clean vocals. That is a fact.
