so umm your experience with marduk is based on what? one songs from "la grande danse macabre"? after "dark endless", the debut, marduk was pretty much always one of the most well known "hyperspeed" bm bands, eventually descending into self-parody with "panzer division marduk", but lots of the previous albums like "opus nocturne" and "nightwing" were comprised of nearly constant high speed riffage and/or blasting, although back then they had some sort of quality

I'll give you that i haven't listened to much of the early stuff. I owned (got bored with it) Plague Angel and have heard other songs here and there online (never paid much attention to the albums). I think the doom part of it is merely an influence. I get a dirgy feel from them, not a fast one.
