It's kind of an oddity in their discography, what with the strange drone-heavy works at the beginning.

The middle to the end of the album is where it's at though.

Doom's roots are in Heavy Metal, so where is the confusion?

Btw, I abhor cheesy, over-the-top power metal. I'm more of a "true metal" fanatic. Gimme some exceptional musicianship, amazing melodic leads, galloping/driving rhythm section, and songs oriented around war/battle and I'll squirt.

As far as Funeral Doom, yeah I'm past it with the exception of a couple bands. It was more appealing when I was stoned 24/7, which makes sense. I can't even listen to doom/death much anymore.

what's with the interest in Enid all of a sudden? i dug their debut. almost like Summoning lite. the second one is where they started going in the classical music direction. interesting music.
