Many years ago, when I was living in the Philippines, the most popular band during that time was a Norwegian group called Fra Lippo Lippi. This is probably one of the softer sides to my musical preferences.

i have all of jeff beck's stuff - some live bootlegs too. his tone is amazing :worship: it's cool live how he can nail the whammy bar melodies - i seen him only once in the ealy 90z with SRV who is another big influence for me - two guitar heros in one night :)

Jeff Beck with SRV?! WOW! I saw him with Jimmy Overrated Page and God Himself, Eric Clapton:worship:. All 3 jammed together at the end of the show, it was magical!

My favorite bands have to include Aerosmith, Boston, ELO, Judas Priest, Husker Du, Pat Travers Band, Van Halen (w/DLR), and MSG w/ Graham Bonnet on vocals - great stuff!!

No I didn't. I don't even know what they sound like!!

And I love you btw!!!!

Also ABBA are fucking awesome!!! I was very happily singing along to Mammia Mia the other day, that's my favourite ABBA song.

ABBA!!!

They were offered 1 BILLION DOLLARS from Japanese investors back in 2000 to do re-union concerts. I think 100 concerts but am not sure of that number.

I don't think any other band has had an offer like that one!!!

ABBA had some cool songs. Did they have any good leads/solos??? :)

Maybe there could be a `clone' band that could get some of that money!!!! :)

Uh dude, Jimmy Page is godly! What's wrong with you? He shits on Eric Clapton! Clapton is good, when he wants to be, but Jimmy Page is unbelievable! The problem is Zeppelin is always on or off. You may have seen an off night. Listen to How The West Was Won. top notch guitar playing.

Nice Husker Du refernce. I used to be real into them. I forgot all about them. haha Bob Mould haha

My dad told me that the other day and they turned it down. That's alot of money to turn down.

I can't think of any off hand but they did have some kinda rockier numbers.

Bjorn Again is probably the most famous Abba tribute band out there - they've headlined stadiums and everything!

Yeah, Jimmy is Godly, but from a technique standpoint, he is kinda sloppy in my opinion. As far as song writing and just looking cool with a guitar he is untouchable - well maybe tied with Joe Perry as far as looking cool while slinging an axe! Clapton and Beck are simply virtuosos at their craft and really blew me away. Return to Forever were another band that just floored me live- unbelievable!
Husker Du were the Kings of catchy hooks back in the day, huh! My buddy broke his arm at one of their shows, not moshing ,though - he fell going up stairs to take a piss! Did you also like the Dickies? I loved them! Stukas over Disneyland! Great stuff!

Rutger Gunnarsson was their bassist and is a freaking hero of mine. Check out Head Over Heels or Soldiers off The Visitors.

In fact Head Over Heels is one of my favorite basslines in anything. Just sick the feel he has in that. Smooth as cream.

The man was a monster player and very unsung. All his basslines just fit perfect and are nowhere as easy as they seem. :headbang:

A7 sure has a great list! This guy's cool! I would say my top bands would be: KISS, Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Krokus, Quiet Riot, Dio, Rush, Queen, and of course the IRON MAIDENS!

Yeah I've seen the Dickies a bunch. They still play. Troubodour a lot.

Jimmy Page isn't really sloppy. He is rooted in the blues and plays the blues. Thats the beauty in it. Clapton is good, but he has way too many fluff commercial songs. Live Derick and the Dominoes is excellent. His blues stuff is excellent. When he wants to shred, he mutha fukin shreds. But Jimmy Page took the blues and blasted it to a level Clapton never even came close to touching. Jeff Beck is tecnically better than all of them! Beck has gotten better, if you've seen him in recent years. What he is doign now on guitar is beyond human.

But please, listen to How the West Was Won. Zeppelin was either on or off. These recordings are all their on days. Page is unreal!

Husker Du was part of the REM, Replacements kind of rock. Kind of college radio punk kind of thing if I remember. I dont know if their stuff holds up nowadays, but I woudl love ot see a rockin Husker Du or Bob Mould show nowadays! WOW!

Thanks. I try to listen to as much metal as possible. I have to admit that I have a lot of catching up to do, as a lot of the classic metal bands like Sabbath, Priest, even Maiden, were not accessible during my high school and college days in the Philippines.

GAWD! You love to torture me with all this Wuss crap you like!:puke: Oh Sorry That's Acujer!
Sorry Not My Thing.I'm in to Girl METAL bands not squeaky clean virginal pop tarts!

Is Kittie on your short list?:kickass:
