Another great example of a band that kept a high quality in its music after leaving their metal period, is the Australian band Vauxdvihl (they played prog metal in their first album, and then released an ep of progressive electro/industrial)

I really need to hear that EP... and I really need to own "To Dimension Logic"...

yes,,,the Gathering...

I have all their CDs. one of my favorite bands, now they have really only minimal metalness but metal zines still pay attention to them because of their past. To me, the band was smart...they recruited an amazing vocalist, and decided to go with that strength.

Her voice is so awesome. I've never heard their metal days.
