so I watched a video in Ancient History class about Greeks the other day, it turns out that when the boys where 12 they where put in the army and each boy would be put in the care of a soldier, the soldier would then teach the boy, care for him and also to be his lover.
but then they would try to marry the boys off to women when they are old enough. what they would do, according to the video, they would get the women to dress up like a man and wait in a tent, then when the soldier is good and ready, he comes into the tent and has his manly greek way with her, whilst she is dressed like a soldier. once finished, he then returns to the soldiers tent and sleeps there. Apparently this can go on for months until he is good and ready to get married.
They also rubbed each other down with oils and then wrestled nude, so please tell me that the greeks never where gay.
