choose your eq frequencies relative to the actual sound and the tuning. so you will want to subtract bad frequencies contained in the original sound of the drum / bass, and boost key frequencies that relate to the notes being played.
Can you elaborate on this a little? I've tried something similar before but it didn't turn out right for me.
Are you doing something similar to this?
Lets say the band plays in drop C. The key frequency for a bass tuned in C is 65 hz.. So I'd boost that and use some surgical eq accordingly?
NO clue if that's correct.
