You know, the band promised me one for giving the debut demo such a glaring review, and here I sit... cd less......
I'm miffed.
I'm miffed.
Good album, but nothing beats the self titled, Rick Rubin produced album.JayKeeley said:Fates Warning tape led me to buy a couple of CDs. More importantly, your Trouble tape is going to lead me to buy some CDs too. I'm going to start with Skull.
Prepping myself for whiney, out of key, off kilter vocals as we speak...JayKeeley said:By the way, since I've got you drifting through here right now, can you get your Bathory review into me, you dirty yank.
*slaps forehead*Papa Josh said:All true, but I'm not talking about their debut, Psalm 9. I'm talking about their fourth album, Trouble, released on Def American recordings.
I'm telling you that you absolutely must get Trouble first as it is excellently retro and makes everything else pale in comparison. The others are good doom in an obscure Metal Blade kinda way..JayKeeley said:*slaps forehead*
OK I shall get Trouble instead then on your recommendation. Thing is, I'm just in the mood for some really old sounding doom, you know? Something a tad retro, valve amps, etc. If Skull is still good, but doesn't sound quite as polished as perhaps Trouble, is it still a good first CD to get? Or should I get Trouble first either way, just because it's substantially a better collection of songs.
Let me know when you get it... I'm gonna go throw it in right now.JayKeeley said:Right, Trouble it is then for sure.
Oh by the way, not that the Review Index is updated, you can send out that fancy mail thing. (Don't forget to include mention of Seven Deadly Sins, since that'll be replaced shortly with Bathory).
Are you taking the piss? The cheapest I've seen it at is $50. It's not even listed on cduniverse. You never told me this was a OOP HTF album!!Goatdamnit.Papa Josh said:Let me know when you get it... I'm gonna go throw it in right now.

I am telling you, you will absolutely fall on your knees in the throes of rock worship...
The guitar tone is to fucking kill for.
It doesn't get anymore Sabbath without being Sabbath.
Well, I have a bid in for it on jewBay. I'm sure I'll be outbid though since people are getting $50 for it. Screw that, I aint paying $50 for any CD. The most I ever paid for a CD was $25 and that was for Sabbat's Dreamweaver.Papa Josh said:Yeah, I got really lucky, this guy told me he'd sell it to me for $25, I gave him $15 and he disappeared.
That is one of those major label releases that is kinda lost in limbo right now...
Hmm. Keeping it all under wraps for now.So, hey, are you expecting a girl or boy?
