So I got into metal just a short while ago and I only have like 5 bands I listen to. I like Disturbed, Godsmack, Demon Hunter, 36 Crazyfists, System of a Down, and Adversary. I like things that are upbeat mostly, I don't like the bands that are about blood and gore stuff.

do you have Serj Tankian's solo albums (I think he just released a new one). He's the guy from System of a Down, I think.

you might like Sentenced if you like Godsmack. Check out the albums Crimson and The Cold White Light.
