If I get rail during Illusion Suite, I'll most likely be stuck there for the rest of the day - they're actually the only band on the day's bill I'm not fond of, but I'm willing to see if their live show wins me over. If my nine-hour standing exercise doesn't come into fruition, then...

But seriously-- of the bands I'm taking in, I'm extremely excited.

I'm not going to know until that week exactly what I'll be doing, since I'm on a mission to listen to as much of every band playing as I can before the festival to try to get the most I can out of it. When I bought my tickets last November, the only bands I'd heard were Leaves' Eyes, Delain and Kamelot.

Tyr - Viking Helmet? Check. Inflatable hammer with "Heathen Hammer" painted on it? Check. Rail? Bet your ass!
Nocturnal Rites - Floor
Kamelot - Seats, Kamelot is one of those bands you need to just rever the completeness. Can't do that on the rail.

I'm not a huge fan of being on the rail in this venue, where the best sound and sightlines seem to be from about halfway back on the floor. Plus, I couldn't latch on to a rail spot for the whole night anyway, because I absolutely hate standing around waiting for bands to start playing. So I leave and hang out in the semi-circular hallway or outside right when one band ends, and only go back in when the next band starts. Instead of getting increasingly frustrated about why it's taking so damn long for them to start playing (it seems like a long time when you're just standing there, heh), going outside and walking around, talking to people, etc, makes it seem like the next band is on in no time.
