Anata - The Conductors Departure


These are all death metal but they have clearly different takes on the genre. I think its a good start to start off with bands that do play in the same genre but doesnt sound that similar to one another. Morbid Angel is of course classic death metal. Nile does the more technical thing and with amazing drumming steeped in a egyptian theme. Bolt Thrower does the slower and more groovy death metal and Anata is the more technical band. I think thats a nice start.

Someone may want to recomend som old school stockholm death metal as well but Im not much into those bands so I cant recomend any for the 5th recomendation.

I don't know exactly what defines death metal so I am afraid I cannot explain in detail, but Unquestionable Presence sounds like death metal to me and I can't recall anyone ever questioning this other than you.
