not TOO recent but this was one of those albums that as soon as I heard about 5 seconds I instantly knew it was one of the best sounding recordings I've ever heard: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie_Blur

Also digging Daniel Romano (who's just releasing music relentlessly), The Sadies (saw them in London the other year and their musicianship is just nuts).

I'm deeply addicted to the last Ulver album, not metal at all, very far from it actually, but damm it has some amazing songs!

One of the best albums I've heard lately (discovered a few days ago, although it was released early last year), love how they mix different approaches both in writing, style and tuning, stunning music!
