Who is more 'glam' Rob or Joey?

Why do you even bother bringing up these old threads?
I know, "this forum was a lot more active back in the day yadayadayada."

Who gives a crap? The BAND is a lot more active these days, it makes most people happy so there's a lot less to bicker about. The ones who are still unhappy about the development of the band can't be bothered posting, which essentially makes them more rational than you, who are still trying to counter arguments that others made two years ago.

In general I think the novelty of being able to post on a message board has worn thin with a large portion of the public. Facebook found a way to incorporate this sort of thing into the original myspace format which is one reason it's so popular. You can post on just about any kind of site out there now. I'm sure a lot of folks still look at boards but not as many are posting on them.

Yeah, that's true. I think that message boards have the potential to generate a sense of community that's not achievable on a Facebook band site, though.

Been flicking through some comments on the Anthrax FB page, and its mostly comments like "you rock!", "you suck!", "Awesome" and that sort of thing. Alot of times the comments are just a series of letters that make no sense at all.

On a message board there is at least the posibility of having a debate that's not initiated by administrators. Unfortunatly, the debates on this particular board often ends up with someone getting banned

This is also where most people probably look back at their comments and realize that they'd have nothing to contribute to an actual conversation.

Yet, they continue with their "Yargh", "yo, dudes" and "Metal!" comments, even with the benefit of hindsight.

(I'm taking the piss here. No intention of offending anyone. However, I find it quite fascinating that while the written language has been developed and refined through history, it's suddenly being reduced to LOLs and tweets limited to 140 characters).
