Who is your Album of 2007 ?

I just tried to change the topic title - lol sorry it was a late night when I posted it....and I can't change the title :( ... everyone knows the point, ....theres a really cool variation in peoples choices, I'm going to check out Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet
maybe it should have put a poll on it to have the "Sneap Board - Album of the year"

So what were your choices?

King Diamond - Give Me Your Soul...Please!
Pain - Psalms of extinction
Legion Of The Damned - Sons Of The Jackal
Exodus - The Atrocity Exhibition Exhibit A

Theres some of mine. Best is King all the way!!!

In no particular order the albums that have struck me as great in some way or another
Machinehead - the blackening (two great albums in a row, hell yeah )
Tub Ring - the great filter (chicago band that writes really great pop songs, Id call it post pop-core)
The End - Elementry (this is a great album, complex but totally listenable )
Joe Henry - Civilians (singer songwriter stuff)
BTBAM - Colors (your all feeling this one too)
Daxx Riggs - we sing of only blood or love (ex acid bath singers first real solo album, awesome stuff)
Saul Williams - Niggy Tardust (just came out, its a free download, reznor production, the best thing hes touched since the fragile)
Dillenger Escape - Ire Works (also just came out, very cool)

What?

Porcupine Tree, Mnemic, Dark Tranquillity, Daath, Devin Townsend, Nile, Impious, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Soilwork...

Goddamn, I had hell trying to cut things down to five.

It's subjective. Here's why they didn't make my list:

Porcupine Tree
- Quite boring, but then again the only PT albums I really like are Lightbulb Sun and Stupid Dream. The rest just sounds dull

Mnemic
- They keep on ripping Meshuggah off with average metalcore/numetal jumpdafuckup kind of crap. They should do stuff like they did on MSP.

Dark Tranquillity
- There's a thin line between doing even quality and repeating yourself. They crossed the line with this for me.

Daath
- It's a nice album, but not good enough for Top 5 stuff. It's #12 on my list for this year.

Devin Townsend
- Again, there were better albums. Ziltoid is nice though, and it's #10 on my list this year.

Nile
- Kind of dull with not enough really good songs. Just average (on Nile level) stuff all around. What happened to the egyptian passages though. I liked them on Shrines and Annihilation. Saurian Meditation is still one helluva album.

Impious
- Haven't heard

Megadeth
- I never liked the simplistic riffs and songs Dave does.

Dream Theater
- It is on my list ;)

Soilwork
- Yawn. There is absolutely nothing good about that album when compared to TCM and APP. And even when not, it's just a dull album.

There were so many to choose from, and there are lots more. I know this is a lot, but these were my top of 2007:

Backmask - "Dark Fiber" re-release/remaster
Soilwork - "Sworn To A Great Divide"
Arch Enemy - "Rise Of The Tyrant"
Megadeth - "United Abominations"
Dark Tranquillity - "Fiction"
Devil Driver - "The Last Kind Words"
Dimension Zero - "He Who Shall Not Bleed" --fucking amazing!
Divine Heresy - "Bleed the Fifth" --not better-than FF... just different. But I like it.
Fair To Midland - "Fables From A Mayfly-What I Tell You Three Times Is True"
Fear My Thoughts - "Volcanus"
Mors Principium Est - "Liberation"
Porcupine Tree - "Fear of A Blank Planet"
The Absence - "Riders Of The Plague" --their version of Testament's "Into The Pit" is godly... :kickass:
Sanctity - "Road to Bloodshed"

Chimaira - Resurrection: one of Andy's very best i think

most definitely!!

Exodus - The Atrocity Exhibition Exhibit A

Yes!

Machine Head - The Blackening[/B]

If the Cd wouldn't be clipping like a fucking fuzzbox strapped across the 2bus
