Who started the trend for glam bands doing power ballads?

Not the Bon Jovi one haha.

But the Bon Jovi one is awesome too :headbang: However I'm not a fan of Silent Night. I like most of the song but I hate the chorus and the horrible swelling keyboard thing.

But the chorus is so bad!

Gimme "Only Lonely" and "The Hardest Part Is The Night" anyday. The two most underrated Jovi songs ever :headbang:

BEST '80s CLIP EVER!

You know how over the top and outrageously '80s the album is? Well the video just multiplies that by 100! :headbang:

Bad English was another , admittily after Crue. Journey, Stxy, REO Speedwagon started it all I reckon..............

oh well off the watch the footy show and catch up on the cricket in Sri Lanka ..

NITE NITE
how could i forget Bad English :headbang:

Bad English featured power ballad gurus in John Waite from The Babys, solo, Ricky Phillips also from The Babys ( no slouches when it came to ballads ) and then
Jonathan Cain (also Babys - then Journey) and Neal Schon (Journey/Santana), D.Castronovo on drums made for a huge band.

Now Journey - theres a band that made the power ballad their trademark. With Steve Perry up front they would have to be the ultimate soft rock band - Open Arms, Faithfully, etc They mastered their style. Escape and Frontiers are amazing albums on a whole.

The album they did a couple of years ago with the new singer was great... What was it called? The one that has Signs Of Life on it... Arrival?

Night Ranger! I have their first album... Not fantastic but good eunff to make me wanna get other albums to hear as well.

Yep I love that site Brian! :headbang:
