It's always hard to pinpoint the actual time of birth of bands who become famous later on. But as far as I know both, Nihilist and Grave were founded in 1987. Nihilist were quite influental as they were the nucleus from which Entombed, Unleashed and Dismember developed. There's also a cross connection to Carnage (founded in 88), a band with a certain Mr. Amott handling the guitars. Grave were unaffected by this member-sharing as they were located on the island Gotland (or so).spaffe said:nihilist who later changed their name to entombed released their first demo in 1988, so i guess they should be be mentioned among the first ones

Sorry, my mistake.Tranquillian said:Dead didn't found Mayhem, he became a member 2-3 years after they formed.
Yeah, absolutely correct. I believe, the other Nihilist-guys din't get along with him well enough to recruit him for Entombed or something.Tranquillian said:Johnny Hedlund from Nihilist formed Unleashed I think.
Well, isn't one guy enough to establish a connection? Besides, it was actually Entombed's drummer Nicke Andersson who layed down all of the guitar solos for the Dismember debut.Tranquillian said:David Blomqvist played for a qhile in Nihilist or Entombed and later in Dismember. i think the guys who started Dismember never played in Nihilist though.
