Who's Better Than Michael Romeo???

Francesco Fareri is an italian who boasts about his INCREDIBLY FAST playing and spends ungodly amounts of time promoting his "music" around the net. His "music" consists of seemingly random combinations of sloppy six-string sweeps that just blur into each other with no musical direction. By far the most terrible guitar-music I`ve ever had the dubious pleasure of listening to.

The guy is just blatantly untalented, I tell you. Just check out his tablatures... They`re totally off.

:guh: Holy shit, you're absolutely right! I just checked his official website and downloaded mp3 called guitar solo and few other clips. Well, that was the worst guitar "solo" I've ever heard. Has that guy ever heard of such thing called melody? Or or perhaps even playing in tune? My god, garbage, garbage, garbage!

I'm really sick and tired of these assclowns, who can't put together something that would even remotely resemble a real song if it hit them in the sack with a sledgehammer, yet they get a record deal at Michael Angelo's and a "lesson" column to showcase their signature sucking.

j00 r teh win! You are absolutely right about the "internet-shredders", as I like to call them. They spend lots of time promoting their music, in forums, through webrings, et.c., but never seem to get the hang of actually sitting down and work on their MUSIC, on melodies, chord progressions, sound or other stuff that makes music sound nice. Instead, they sit down in their mothers basement and practice tapping/sweeping/alternate picking licks `till their fingers fall off, and post them on the net when they get them up to speed... The jazz-guys are refreshing in that matter. They may practice their asses off, but they focus on things like phrasing, modal ideas and theory, things you can`t practice mindlessly while watching porn.

So, to Rusty Cooley, Ryan Formato, Francesco Fareri, Marshall Harrison and the rest of the gang; get a sense of melody and direction, and then we can talk

Bashing Fareri, huh?

None of you assclowns realize how music should be listened. Well, that is quite obvious. You post on a Symphony X message board.

I am here to educate you.

You shouldn't hate me because I know A LOT more about music and life in general. I know it could intimidate some of you, but as I said: Please don't hate me because of it.

Stump calls these kinds of guys "bedroom shredders" cause it sounds like all they do is practice scales in their bedroom all day.

Oh please, don't make me laugh. Lets hear YOUR music hotshot, since you know so much more about it than the rest of us, you must be the next fucking Mozart.

I'll go back to practicing twinkle twinkle little star now.

LMFAO!!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I just heard those mp3 samples from Fareri's website lmao, that's like comedic guitar or something. I swear I heard the same sweeping "noise" in all of the samples! WTF is that??? Haha, someone needs to teach that guys some lessons. How dare you call THAT music revenge drama? lol

But seriously, he can be really "fast" but god, that's the most annoying guitar sound I've ever heard!

U R A WINNR DEWD

I just wanna know how he got all those "quotes" on his website. From guys like Bellas and Howe and Vitalij...they probably just didn't want to make him feel bad. I know if some guy sent me shit that sounded like that I'd say "uh...yeah...keep up the good work" too, snickering as I typed the email :D.

Do you notice that whenever he has to play something thats not shredding he's got the most horrible hand tones? His vibrato sounds like the kind of shit I hear kids play in guitar center as they try out the Kirk Hammet LTD .

Extreemily well-educated, mature and informative debate responce there, revenge drama aka "wannabe fanboy"

As for the "internet" shredders, I dissagree. I like most of Cooley's songs. Sure, they're extreemily technical, but I like some of the sick ass licks he has and the agressiveness of the riffs and leads. Not very melodic but has alot of balls to 'em.
And Chris Brooks is another guy who mainly promotes his music on the net. But he's an amazingly melodic and emotional fusion/prog shredder. You can describe his playing as ... er... um...Just think John Pettrucci's solo in Under A Glass Moon, he's very good. Proud to have him as an fellow ozzy.
I also like Geoge Bellas. he's EXTREEMILY fluent in his playing, kinda like a "liquidy" feel to his picking. I think he uses "econimy" picking techniques. his neo-classical work with Ring of Fire, Vitalij kurprij and his 2nd solo work is a bit monotonous, but his prog shred album, "Turn of the Millenium" is very futuristic, extreemily complicated and complex compositions and odd-time ideas, with very cool tunes aswell in songs like "Future music"
Anotherone is Terry Syrek. He isn't as big on the net as the others but who can only find him on the net. He has extreem technique up there with Angelo. He is also extreemily acuate and clean. He can also be very melodic and emotional. I have his instructional book "shred is not dead" and it is quite advance. Going into some really exotic scales and modes, odd-time sig' ideas and also technique exersises. With his music he incorporates world music and 70's prog within his metal/shred. www.terrysyrek.com (ps - don't be fooled with his first sound clip, which is a technique wakery slo, but the others are different)

I totally agree with you about George Bellas,he is very gifted both technically and melodically after what i`ve heard of Ring of Fire.
Another fellow you guys should check out is Jarle Olsen, he`s awesome! He definitely got it also melodically. There`s a link to him at Symphony X`s homepage, download the song Osiris(yes, it`s a song! :) ). Also wath a video with him playing some Romeo licks from the LOTEOF cd.
Trust me, he`s great and a cool guy, i got one hour lesson from him so i would know!

???:ill:
and why is that you know more of music and life?

Due to the big deal about this Fareri guy, i decided to visit his web-site and before listening to his stuff, i saw his biography and it says he began to play inmediately on a electric guitar :erk:.....so whatever he does im not interested.

A guitar player who begins to play on a electric without taking into account the ACOUSTIC must go to HELL ¡¡¡
