Tarja of NIGHTWISH has good voice, but let's face it they are just a juiced up version of ABBA and do not walk the dark path.

My favorites are:

Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) - She sounds great on Landslide, I could listen to that 100 times straight.

Alison Krauss (Alison Krauss & Union Station) - Beautiful but does get a bit repetitive.

Brody Armstrong (The Distillers) - I love the rawness that she has, she doesn't have a great voice but she puts everything she has into it and that is the punk style

Emmylous Harris - I just love everything she has done. Her style more than voice appeals to me.

As far as metal goes I like:

The Girls that sing on the Dark Tranquillity albums have beautiful voices.
