Best Metal Female Lead Singer

It's sort of hard for me to wrap my brain around why someone would prefer harsh vocals over clean. It just doesn't make sense to me. I don't know, to each his own.

Yeah, they shouldn't be doing vocals for a band. They should be making the band some sandwiches, cleaning the tour bus, or providing some post-concert oral satisfaction.

Someone's mother did a lot for them when they were a child.... Ewwww incestuous oral satisfaction....:puke:

I'm really not big on vocalists who do multiple styles. I do exempt that statements from bands like opeth, however that growl/switch to high pitched shrill shriek bullshit really just makes my penis shrivel. I find myself enjoying between the buried and me however, which i know is horrible, but they made a badass cover cd and i stand by the statement that thats just a cool fucking thing to do.

Their vocalist is absolutely insane... hes all normal looking but the facial expressions he gives while singing are absolutely hilarious... it made me giggle when i saw them open for Evergrey/Nevermore/ someone else Dragonforce maybe, i dont really remember....

A good clean vocalist is really tough to find.

I really dislike Simone Simons from Epica. I think I mentioned this in another thread, but I just find her really mediocre. She does nothing to me. Sure, she's hot and looks great in a corset, but that doesn't improve her singing abilities.

Everything I have heard by her lacks vibrato and her range seems small, I would tend to agree with you. :) I like the gal from Operatika right off the top of my head.

clean vocals in metal in general isn't my cup of tea, so females who do that type of vocals I don't care for. Learn to accept other people's opinions. :)
I know what you mean. Almost all the bands I listen to have non-clean vocals. I do like some bands with clean vocals, though.

Anyways, on the actual topic. I am not a fan of Lacuna Coil, but Christina Scabbia has a great voice.

Mourn is exactly the kind of band one might expect, given their name and the fact they are on the record label owned by Lee Dorrian (Cathedral) -- that being early-Sabbath inspired doom metal. Caroline Wilson's vocals are a nice touch -- she has a clear voice and her singing makes the band sound less dreary than other doom metal bands. Their self-titled album is not groundbreaking, but is enjoyable nevertheless. The band broke up some time after the release of the album.
