Still waiting for black metal fans worldwide to acknowledge that Manowar was the single most important influence on their favorite genre's sound.
The Dio tribute did have some cool shit on it. I'm guessing the response to this will be negative but my surprise favorite was Tenacious D doing Last in Line.
I can't hardly believe the emotion Jack Black's annoying ass put behind that,
In the end it's just personal preference. I feel nothing but repulsion when I listen to mellow 'oldies' like Bob Seger, Cat Stevens etc. Other people are completely in tune with the spirit of Nickelback.Man I can't believe someone just said Metallica's version of Turn the Page is better than the original. They completely fucking fail to capture the miserable spirit of that song in every way.

There are a lot of good covers. Metallica covers tend to sound lazy and often totally unfitting. They usually sound like they're just going through the motions. Some of them are decent, but people like @Gargamel Bojangles that claim Metallica covers are all better than the originals just make me question if they've even heard them.
Are you talking about black metal or Viking metal?
Last time I checked, you previously claimed that black metal is mostly non-metal and not a real type of metal, so this would be a serious admission that you were wrong either then or now.
You certainly aren't correct right now. That's for sure. It's like Venom doesn't exist or something. Quorthon basically ripped them off directly early on, despite lying about that and many other things during interviews.
Hellhammer sounds nothing like Manowar. Enter the Eternal Fire is basically a tribute to Manowar.
