if you can uncover the true meaning behind the phrase "hard hittin new britain" i would be psyched to hear it. i never heard that at all in the 22 years i lived there but have seemed to hear it ten million times in the last month or so.

the most convincing is the explanation that it has something to do with new britain red sox who are now the new britain rock cats.

It's due to the New Britain High School football team who are a formidable force now since getting a new coach. I don't really follow nor care about this but they were #1 in the state and rarely lost a point as their defence is HARD HITTIN.

oh yeah my Dad was telling me over thanksgiving that they have been having problems finding teams to face since they are so tough and have been undefeated for like over a year or something.

my brother was a part of the team back between 1988-1991

i think the new coach lives on the same street as my parents.

It's good to see that the town produced some talent . What high school did you attend?

the now defunct St. Thomas Aquinas

i have about as much rage in me as an ant. but the years of catholic schooling did leave their mark me in one way or another.

St. Thomas Aquinas 9-12

my gf went to St. Anthony's from k-8 with the same 10 kids and then was thrust into a 2500+ person public school at puberty. she went nuts a couple years.

my first class in college had more kids in the room than were in my entire high school (the aforementioned St. Thomas Aquinas).
