Why wasn't Derelict Herds included on the main tracklist?

I kind of disliked the song when I first heard it, but it's definitely a grower. That intro/outro riff really sticks in your head too! :kickass: I'm starting to really enjoy the shit out of this song actually.

Actually, I think the only thing that makes the song not fit is the intro is just too high pitched for the albulm I think, and some of the parts are too "monotone"-ish with the rythem to fit in, but i think with just a bit more work, this song could have fit right in with Watershed, and I like the song. Like i said, I honestly think the song has alot of potential, just I wish the guys woulda worked with it more, and i think it woulda been great. (I hafta say the same thing for the whole album tho :P).

I think it's totally non-Opeth'ish song, though it's a very good song. Maybe it's because of Per's writing?
Anyway, it would sound very strange if it would be included on the album.

Listen to "Derelict Herds" at 2:14 and to "Face of Melinda" at 3:52
There is definately similarity.

I actually would've liked it better if the bonus tracks were put on the same disc as the album, as kind of like the "hidden tracks" type of thing some other bands do. In that way, it wouldn't spoil the mood of the album (unless you keep the disc playing on repeat and don't stop it). Have the 7 songs on the album, then some empty space, and then the 3 bonus tracks (if they all would fit).

But unfortunately I haven't heard it yet, because I haven't watched the DVD yet, and I don't have a good speaker system hooked up to the TV/DVD.

...sorry,Per...

I hate hidden tracks. It's always annoying. But having bonus tracks on the DVD is annoying too since you can't listen to them as easily as you would with a normal CD. I actually bought the two covers from iTunes even though I have the special edition.
