For an assingment im on a hypothetical budget of £30,000
and I've been asked to make sure that the 'studio' can accommodate 5.1 mixes , the question is, how the hell do i wire it :S

interface wise I'm using 2 of the MOTU HD 192 MIT PCI-424 PCIEXPRESS ones.
and im guessing that 6 of the outputs of the motu goto 6 of the inputs of the speakers , is that it?
it can't be that simple, do i need to do any fiddly bits within my DAW or computer itself?

I was gonna go with Apogee but it seems they're not very PC friendly and since im used to Cubase I'd be having that aswell as Pro tools, and cubase cant run on mac can it?

Also , I was going to daisy chain 3 of the motus so that totals about £4500 and gives me 24 xlr ins/outs, anyhigher and id have to underbudget for monitors, computer, plugins etc...

Logic 9; Motu traveller; Blue Sky 5.1

cables required; 6 x balanced jack to XLR, from motu to Blue Sky bass manager.
6 x XLR from Bass manager to speakers.

Same with almost all other systems (Blue Sky, Genelec..)
