I just discovered this yesterday and was entirely frustrated to not be able to see the Argentina-Nigeria match. In Venezuela every match of the world cup is broadcast on free channels, even in school we used to get an old small tv with a shitty antenna (there is still analog Tv in Venezuela).

I´m almost positive the only way to stream is to pay, I know with Canal+ I could watch the games on my Iphone if I was a Canal+ subscriber
 
I'm pretty new to the world of "proper" football, but so far it owns! I'm enjoying watching the World Cup. I think it's a pretty bad ass sport. Probably not enough scoring (werz teh high sc0rez??) for the majority of the American public, but they are definitely missing out on a great game. I think I've been converted. ;)
 
I think the main reason americans dont care for football is because it's a hard to score game, theres fuck loads of strategy and tactics envolved, it's just hard to get big scores and that's probably one of the reasons americans dont like it, cause in every american sport you have scores of like 30-28 or some shit like that and there aren't even draws, you play for like 6 hours until someone wins

Personally I'm going to be avoiding the tv this summer as I basically have the choice of the world cup or big brother :puke:

Did anyone else see the discussion on Gearslutz where they were talking about using phase to cancel out the sound of the horns!? Yeah that's gonna work :lol::loco:
 
That dam HORN! My brother in law is watching the game downstairs and all I hear is this non-stop annoying buzzing thing. MAKE IT STOP! How can you stand it? It must be deafening for people actually there. WTF is that thing?
 
They're called vuvuzela's, its a South African thing apparently and yeah it is damn annoying and not a regular football thing at all.

FIFA should be banning them as they're completely unmusical and a total atmosphere killer.

The organizers are considering banning them according to some newssites...
 
Germans are amazing so far, great passing and vision, good work ethic and no complacancy like the English or laziness like the French. Solid watchable football.
