Wormed are unbelievably sick \m/

So what does "heavy" actually mean in the context of music then ???

The context of music? I'd say you could go deeper than that. Context sensitive depending on what the artist(s) are aiming to do, what kind of atmospheres they are weaving, what genre, sub-genre... Etc.

I'd say as far as the context of Brutal Death Metal goes, this is pretty stunningly heavy, also groovy as hell.

Or you could always just refer back to my earlier post.
Ultimately, s'cool if you don't dig it. I just wanted to express my joy of getting into another cool band and put up a few vids for those who have not heard them yet to sample 'em.

AND NO BURP VOCAL HATING IN MY GODDAMN THREAD! Or I'll set a wild boar that has quothed a few too many rum and cokes on you, consider yourself warned!

I knew what that would be before I even clicked it
you sly dog!

I like to think of that guy as being a Frog Emperor, all regal and such. It makes listening to Demilich a hilarious experience

Hey, can someone please clarify this to me or am I totally wrong here... Shouldn't the title be "Wormed is unbelievably sick" as band(name) is a singular unit, "a group", not a plural? if it is with "are", shouldn't it be "Bands"?

Band is unbelievably sick
Band(s) are unbelievably sick

I don't know about technically, but I would say it as it is written atm...

Also, Gareth, I'm never going to get that image out of my mind

I'd only use "is" when the noun is a singular person, I couldn't explain the exact reasoning behind that but "is" in the context of a group name sounds wrong to me as a native speaker and I'd definitely use Gareth's version with "are" when referring to a group of people under a singular title.

More in depth discussion of the grammar thing there, from what I can gather both are correct usages with the main distinction being American/British linguistic differences; hence my preference for "are" over "is" and perhaps vice versa for DolphinSplatter.

This reminds me of all the shit you see on youtube videos
THE KIND OF METAL I LISTEN TO IS BETTER THAN THE KIND OF METAL YOU LISTEN TO...

Who cares, we all listen to Metal, so by my standards, that makes us all METAL BROTHERS ultimately.

And yeah, when referring to bands I generally say that they "are" sick rather than using "is" for no other reason than that's what feels natural to say. *Shrug*

This shit is heavy as fuark. It reminds me of Haemorrhage except with the pitch shifted vocals.

By the way, heavy to me is music with extreme density. Sometimes it's groove, sometimes it's extreme speed/rawness.

EDIT: lol at week old thread.
