i was just wondering i mean,,,since the electronics have been a little more prominent, what you guys would think if some backing vocals used a talkbox, i would personally find it interesting.while usually very cheesy sounding,if well used it must give a very nice sound.:hotjump:

If used right it could be done very well. Of course that is said about any new directions any band takes.

I think the bands that do use talkboxes strive with them. The ones that do not use them do fine as well. Of course some vocalists SHOULD use them. Like Anders of In Flames. But that is beside the point.

Maybe on the next album have one track to test it out, but what the hell do I know? I'm just a doctor.

i mean, like if niklas or martin linked a voice box to their guitar and made some back up vocals using the guitar voice box combo

lol no no,,its just that i was thinking some bands have done a pretty nice job with stuff like that, like rammstein in their mutter era.anyway it was just a random thought, kinda drunk when i posted.sorry lol

Q: Can these boxes be hooked up to any (electric) instrument?

In one of my fotos of BÖC from last October it looks like Eric Bloom has one in his mouth while he's sitting at the keyboards. I'm fairly certain he is also holding a guitar, though. ( foto ) In the pic it looks like it's attached to a mic stand. This was probably during the song E.T.I. :D

Now that I think about it, other artists I've seen use the box on stage are Joe Perry (Aerosmith) and Matthias Jabs (The Scorpions). That stuff in the Scorps track The Zoo is pretty kick-ass.

I suppose it can be done with taste. It's not impossible.

yeah, you change the pitch of what you say with the instrument. What you say just determines the tone. Classic example is that Foo fighters song "Wah-wah-wah-waaaahh-waahhh-whaa-w-w-waah-waah-wah!" (thats not the title, it just opens with that.

I can't imagine it not sounding merry and comic.

Does no one know the answer to my question? Oh well, maybe I'll Google or Wiki to find out more. Since there are some musicians here - who seem to love to POST a lot ;-) - I thought I'd ask here first.

Perhaps everyone in the band can be hooked up to a talkbox and they can get a chorus going... :loco:
