It's a song that ages quite well ;) I find the more I listen to it the more I really enjoy the song. Funny, because it was probably my least favorite on the album a few years ago...

this is true for me as well. it's grown to become my third favorite song from deliverance.

That is how I feel about Blackwater Park. The more I hear that song, the more powerful it gets. The last 2 minutes are...are.......are.........are.............i don't know what but it's fucking amazing.

i've always kinda looked at deliverance as their weakest work... good but not great. awesome but not art.
but seriously
these tracks are fucking emotional
just relentless aggression almost doom death oriented
his vocals are hopeless and strong
wreath is just fvcking powerful
the lyrics are interesting as well
an album i really have to second guess as their weakest

The end is some of the best Opeth ever. Kinda like the end of "When". The song is good and kinda grows on you but the end catches your attention right away. I still love hearing the end of both of those songs. A lot of Opeth songs have great parts stuck somewhere in the begining, middle or end. Like the acoustic part in "godheads lament" or the part in "Leper" where it kicks back into the main riff after Mike screams for like ten seconds:rock:.

Although not a wine-fan,i understand your point, and i agree. I feel the same way about Dirge For November by the way,a song which made me feel frustrated at first because i used to think that they spoiled the beautiful aocustic parts with the distorted stuff, but now i love the whole song.

This thread just inspired a spin for this song. Mike sounds so genuinely pissed-off in this song... I love it. Sheer power. And yes, the ending is sublime.
