It took me a while but I'm really liking the new Queens of the Stone Age record. I hated it at first but man, it is one somber release. The songs are definitely not as immediate as on previous releases. One thing they've been missing, though is the duality of Nick Oliveri's intense screams and his quirky voice. It gave them a diversity that I think they lack now.

Oh, and DsO Drought is still amazing. The atmosphere on that thing is unparalleled.
