X-Men: First Class

Eh, I agree and disagree.

You know whats getting old? The fact that most of the comic book adaptations are terrible. That also includes video game adaptations.

I still go to these in hopes of viewing a film that ties into the comic. Chances are, it won't.

Regardless, I am still going. I do not have my hopes up.

My thing with the comic book movies, is they all kinda have the same plot, seemingly same atmosphere. I find many of the movies just kind of forgettable, especially Spiderman. Hopefully, Hollywood can find some way to spice them up a bit more. For some reason though, I thought Origins, Wolverine pretty enjoyable despite the bad reviews.

Origins was absolutely terrible, and I WANTED to like it, hell, I TRIED to like it, but I just couldn't. It wasn't the cast, (Jackman is an amazing Wolverine and Reynolds is a great Wade or Deadpool) but the origin of Deadpool in the movie is COMPLETELY different than how it happened in the comics, and I wasn't even a huge comic fan at all and it still bothered the hell out of me.

I can sorta forgive what they did with Lady Deathstrike, Deadpool, Juggernaut, etc., but the team of mutants they've assembled for "First Class" is so ridiculous that I'm not going out of my way to see it. I'll only nerdrage through the whole thing.

Yeah, I was actually not caring that much--even though I'm an X-Men Fan--until I saw the reviews for this one. I thought all of the X-Men movies sucked quite frankly, despite everyone seeming to go bat shit crazy for the second.

The only good superhero movies have been Superman II, the last two Batman movies, the first two Spiderman and the first Iron Man. Kick-Ass, I suppose if you actually consider that a superhero movie. First Class is incidentally being directed by the director of that film too.

You'll like "X-Men: First Class" even if you don't like superhero movies.

I understand the movie is technically its own alternate universe and should be viewed with that in mind but goddamnit this sucked. It's really like the entire storyline came from xmen mad libs.

The only redeeming part was Magneto.

I have way too many issues with the storyline. Practically nothing in the movie made any sense. Azazel and Riptide (with brand new powers) are in the Hellfire Club? Alex and not Scott? Banshee and Moira sans accents? Sebastian Shaw that powerful? The Hellfire Club never says anything about Phoenix? Angel is now a female stripper with fairy wings that spits fireballs? THIS IS MADNESS

Without Magneto's badassery this would have absolutely no redeeming qualities.

I did have a beef with it being Alex and not Scott, you have me there.
