X-Men: First Class

I Loved it. The girl who played Angel is lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz's daughter. Lisa Bonet was that hot 17 year old in Angelheart with Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro.

Well it doesn't surprise me if that's true, I'm not an X-Men comic aficionado. I know Wikipedia can be uninformative but their page of "Angel Salvador" shows the character as a female who goes by Tempest, also. Is that the same Angel you're thinking of? That's the Angel in this new movie

Urgh. This is throwing me off big-time. You would have to read the First Class Volumes 1 & 2 to know what I am talking about. The movie just seems way off.

I just got home from work. I will show who I am talking about in a bit.

That guy on the comic cover seems to be a young Warren Worthington III (archangel who according to wikipedia also went by "angel")...If I'm not wrong, he was in X-Men III the last stand (but I barely remember it that's the problem). Wasn't he the kid with the big white wings, who had a dad who came off as a real hard-ass? But yeah, either way this movie is off ...my point is that I don't think they morphed the Angel in the comic into a stripper for their "depiction"...I think they just used an entirely different character for the part ...but they chose one who also has the name "angel" to make up for not using Archangel. But why not just use Archangel if this is an alternate storyline? lol...fuck it. I liked the movie alot though, that's what matters. McAvoy and Fassbender did some great acting in this.

Originally Warren was known as Angel on the original Xmen team, later on he became Archangel (I think once he joined the Four Horsemen, but there's a good chance I'm wrong). I've been told that the chick named Angel in the movie is some mutant that was much more recently introduced. I guess since the only original member they got right was Beast that they'd at least have another female mutant on the team who has the correct name but wrong everything else.

Also, being that Russia was involved this was the only chance to get an Omega Red appearance. I mean, the storyline was already fucked to hell so why not at least a cameo?

@ Liverslapper: I wasn't even aware that there was a comic called First Class, I just assumed the movie was supposed to be based on the original Xmen team (Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Ice Man, and Marvel Girl). Are the First Class comics much different?

GAH, I hope this one's good... I was a big fan of the first 2. THEN I HATED X3. SO much. And Wolverine was better in some ways and WAY worse in a lot more. PLEASE... save the franchise...

The First Class series began in 2007 I believe. Yes, they are very different. This is why the movie is throwing me off and confusing me.

If you want, I can upload Volumes 1 & 2 for you if you wish.

Also, you just figured out about the comics? I've only mentioned the First Class comics several times in this thread already.

Everyone just must skip my posts here

In a nutshell, the First Class comics consists of the adventures of the first X-men team.

Ice-Man, Cyclopes, Beast, Angel and Marvel Girl. The first 5 in the First Class school for gifted youngsters.

There is nothing about Xavier before he became known as "Professor X" or not even anything about Magneto.

So when I see a movie title named "X-Men: First Class", the first thing I am going to think of is the comics.

I'm going to see the movie tomorrow. From what I have heard and seen myself, this literally has no relation to the comics. Why did they even name it First Class when it has nothing to do with the First Class Origins?

all of what you said is completely valid...I think the same as well. They should have named it something else...because it's a good movie on it's own.

I'm sure its going to be a good movie. I am excited to see it here in several hours but this is like naming the first Matrix movie, "Matrix: The Second Renaissance" when the movie has nothing to do with the actual Second Renaissance.
