I really like the riff in Break The Silence by Killswitch Engage. After the second verse, the chorus harmony riff comes in soloed followed by the lower harmony part, then boom! Straight into the chorus!

Also, Machine Head's Halo gives me shivers when the chorus part comes back in after the break with the guitar solos. Powerful stuff.

All of them have awesome riffs. But this last video, the iced earth riff slays every riff that I heard till today. Every riff in this song it´s fucking awesome. One of the best tracks ever made.

this band is so fucking underrated, seriously.
Even if the lineup changed quite a lot now, they still kick so much ass.

The whole album is awesome.
But I also like what they did afterwards, when Rene joined the band (really nice guy btw)

Although the mix of progressive and melo death on "hours" is pretty awesome and unique I would't want them to this all the time...stays something special that way.

I also love newer faster/harder direction


also Rene's doing a really good joob replacing the old singer, his clean vox rule too.

I dont think you can do epic mid tempo stuff all the time
