Occupation-wise, I'm in an in-between place. I'm an English language assistant at a vocational college. It's pretty easy. No preparation involved and it's 12 hours a week. Pay isn't much, but I still manage to travel around and have fun. A lifetime of relative poverty makes it pretty easy. I'll be picking up a few extra hours a week here soon as a contracted lecturer through the local community college, so I'll be able to call myself a Privatdozent (adjunct lecturer) soon, an otherwise somewhat unglamorous title which will in any case provide me with a 50% pay increase. Beyond that, I'm a PhD student currently on leave, so spend a good amount of time at the university here. I'm rather happy with what I'm doing.
For fun I like to drink in public, get blasted with strangers in cities I've only just wandered into, and wake up in unfamiliar places only to recognize I forgot to remove my contacts. I also play guitar and, despite having covered Covered with Sores with a friend just a month ago, I primarily cover Elliott Smith songs and sometimes write songs about ex-girlfriends/boyfriends and being sad. I also like to play licks in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan, but in a minimalist (not that he was exactly melodically/rhythmically complex) and out-of-tune fashion, and wouldn't mind starting a noisy band with that being my shtick at some point.
