Your most anticipated album the rest of this year?

Slayer? This might be the first new one I won't pick up on the day of the release. Oh nevermind, I probably will anyhow. Better not be like God Hates This Album.

The sad thing is that you know it probably almost certainly will be  I wonder how much Dave Lombardo can steer them towards writing decent songs? Not much at all I figure :(

Interestingly, my mates who went Download said that Dave filled in for Metallica...Lars hadn't turned up or something. That would've been so cool to see, damnit!

It's annoying, cos I got every Slayer album on CD so I feel obliged to buy this new one to keep a full set...even though I know it'll suck! DAMNIT!!!

Epic has leaked and early reviews (Metal Ireland) say it ain't all dat and a bag of chips.

If its anything like Empiricism then I'm sure it shall rule. A review from metalreview.com says its great, but I'd end up buying it regardless. Borknagar has yet to let me down and I'm probably too much of a Vintersorg fanboy to not buy it. :loco:

Yeah i've heard that too and i wouldn't mind seeing Slayer if only Download wasn't going to be full of 11-15 year old slipknot and Cradle of Filth fans :yuk:

I'll get it as well, though I thought Empiricism was a step down from Quintessensencentssents

I guess I need to listen to that album more. It never hooked me nearly as much as Empiricism or The Archaic Course. I don't know if it's the production/mix or if Simen used less clean vocals or what, but there is something about that album that is less appealing.

IMO, Bork's two best songs are on it, Presence is Ominous and Colossus.

Certainly, both of those songs rule immensely, but honestly they are two of only 3 or 4 songs on that album I find myself listening to, while with Empiricism I can listen to it all the way through multiple times because I enjoy every song on there. Not that there aren't highlights such as Gods of My World, Inherit the Earth or The Stellar Dome, but the whole album seems a lot more even to me.
